How to Hand Wash a Backpack

You'll need:

Step 1:

Empty the backpack and remove the backing (only valid for backpacks with a removable back).

Step 2:

Roughly clean the backpack by shaking it or vacuuming it.

Step 3:

Pretreat stains. For a particularly dirty and stained backpack, apply a stain remover to the problem areas. Gently scrub the area with a sponge or toothbrush and let the product act for about 30 minutes. Avoid bleach.

Step 4:

Wash the backpack. Fill a tub, sink, or bucket with warm water. If there are blood stains, wash the backpack with cold water. Add mild detergent, soap, or baby shampoo. Gently wipe the inside and outside of the backpack with a sponge or cloth.

Rinse the backpack and let it dry naturally by hanging it upside down in a shaded, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Drying in a dryer is not recommended.

How to Wash a Backpack in the Washing Machine

How to Wash a Gaiter

Pretreat stains. For particularly dirty gaiters, gently scrub the area with a sponge or toothbrush, water, and Marseille soap. Avoid bleach.

Step 2:

Wash the gaiters. Put the gaiters in the washing machine. Add liquid detergent for delicate, which will not damage the fabric and will impart a more natural scent. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. Wash the gaiters on a delicate cycle or a quick cycle at 30°C. Avoid spinning.

Step 3:

Dry the gaiters naturally by hanging it upside down in a shaded, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Drying in a dryer is not recommended.

How to wash vests and jackets

You'll need:

Step 2:

Wash the vest or jacket. Place the vest or jacket in the washing machine. Add liquid detergent for delicate, which will not damage the fabric and will impart a more natural scent. Washing Instructions for Loden Products

Loden is a natural, water-repellent fabric; we strongly advise against excessive wetting and machine washing.

How to wash a loden backpack

You'll need:

Step 1:

Empty the backpack and remove the backing (only applies to backpacks with a removable back).

Step 2:

Give the backpack a thorough cleaning by shaking or vacuuming.

Step 3:

Brush the backpack regularly in the direction of the grain with a soft brush or sponge to remove dust and dirt.

Step 4:

Wring out the cloth with Marseille soap and gently wipe the loden fabric to clean and disinfect, including the inside. For more stubborn stains, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

Step 5:

Air-dry the backpack slowly, away from heat sources such as direct sunlight or radiators, which could distort the backpack or damage the fibers.

How to wash a loden gaiter

You'll need:

Step 1:

Regularly brush the gaiters in the direction of the grain with a soft brush or sponge to remove dust and dirt.

Step 2:

Wring out the cloth with the Marseille soap and gently rub it over the loden to clean and disinfect, including the lining. For more stubborn stains, professional dry cleaning is recommended.

Step 3:

Air-dry the gaiters slowly, away from heat sources such as direct sunlight or radiators, which could warp them or damage the fibers.
